description Hazard Campground is located on the shores of its namesake high in the Grassy Mountains at an elevation of 7,050 feet. A winding, narrow gravel road leads to the campground, which is 27 miles from McCall, Idaho. Visitors come to Hazard to enjoy great kayaking, canoeing and fishing in a quiet, remote mountain setting.
drivingDirection From McCall, Idaho, take Highway 55 north toward New Meadows. After 4 miles turn left onto Forest Road 257 and follow signs toward Brundage Mountain Resort, Goose Lake and Hazard Lake. After the road turns to gravel continue for 22 miles up to the lake.
facilitiesDescription Hazard Campground offers several single and double-family sites, most of which are accessible. Many of the sites have beautiful lake views and some have lake access. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, and roads and parking spurs are graveled. A day use area is located on the lake shore, offering visitors a scenic place to host picnics and family functions. Hard Creek Ranger Station is within 2 miles.
